Due to our unique independent status, we have a wide ‘hand picked’ selection of items on our shelves ready for you to borrow with no waiting for inter-branch transport. There is an area with information booklets and magazines for senior citizens to sit or browse. We also have a lift to carry you up to level 2 on the first floor where there are lots more books for borrowing.
We have a public access catalogue to view the status of our stock and if you’re not sure how to use it, a member of staff will show you. If the book you want is already out on loan you can go to the enquiry desk and make a reservation.
When borrowing books there’s no need to queue; you can use our simple self service machines to issue, return or renew them. If you’re borrowing audio/visual material you’ll need to have them issued or returned by a member of staff at the counter. Please remember to always bring your membership card with you as we cannot issue any items without it.
